DANYLIW 2018 SEMINAR CALL FOR PAPERS - PROPOSAL DEADLINE: 28 JUNE 2018

The 2018 Danyliw Research Seminar on Contemporary will be held on 8-10 November. The Seminar is welcoming proposals for research papers, as well as for new books or documentaries. The proposal deadline is 21 June 2018. The Seminar will cover travel and accommodation of the invited international participants.

DANYLIW SEMINAR-BASED STATE OF DOCTORAL STUDENTS ON UKRAINE PRESENTED AT 50TH ANNIVERSARY HURI CONFERENCE, 11-12 MAY 2018

At a conference celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute (HURI), on 11-12 May 2018, Dominique Arel presented preliminary findings based on the profile of 58 doctoral students who delivered papers at the Danyliw Seminar between 2005-2017.

ARIANE LAROUCHE TO GIVE VALEDICTORIAN ADDRESS AT 2017 GRADUATION

Ariane Larouche, who completed her MA in Winter 2017, had been chosen to deliver the valedictorian speech of her cohort at the University of Ottawa graduation ceremony to be held at the National Arts Centre on June 18. Ms. Larouche, active at the Chair in the last two years, wrote a Major Research Paper (in French) on the political memory of the Holodomor.

QUENTIN CORBEL NEW RECIPIENT OF THE KULE DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIP

Quentin Corbel has been awarded a Kule Doctoral Scholarships for the years 2017-2020. He becomes the third recipient of the bursary, after Natalia Stepaniuk (2012-2017) and Klavdia Tatar (2014-2018). Corbel graduated in 2016 with a MA at the French Institute of Geopolitics, Université Paris 8, and will begin a doctoral program in Fall 2017 at the University of Ottawa.
